Cuaca Dieng - Real-Time Weather Monitoring App

Cuaca Dieng - Real-Time Weather Monitoring App

Cuaca Dieng is a progressive web application (PWA) developed to visualize real-time weather data from a custom-built IoT sensor system located in the Dieng Plateau, Indonesia. The project aims to provide accessible and accurate environmental information to both locals and tourists through a clean, modern interface. Built entirely using Vue.js, Cuaca Dieng delivers a lightweight yet powerful user experience.

This application serves as the frontend interface for a series of physical sensors deployed in the field. These sensors measure temperature, humidity, air pressure, and rainfall detection, and send data directly to the app for real-time display. In addition to current conditions, Cuaca Dieng also provides users with a 5-day weather forecast, helping them plan outdoor activities and travel more effectively. With PWA functionality, the application is installable on smartphones, offers offline access, and is fully responsive for optimal viewing across devices. This makes it an ideal solution for areas with limited internet connectivity, enhancing its usability and reach.

Impact & Benefits

Here Some

Cuaca Dieng has made it significantly easier for both locals and tourists to access accurate and real-time weather data specific to the Dieng Plateau region. With the integration of live IoT sensor feeds, users are empowered to make well-informed decisions about their daily activities, especially in a region known for its unpredictable mountain weather.

One of the unique benefits of Cuaca Dieng is its ability to help tourists anticipate the rare and stunning Embun Es (frost phenomena) that occurs during the dry season in Dieng. By monitoring temperature trends and early morning conditions, visitors can increase their chances of witnessing this natural phenomenon, making Cuaca Dieng not only functional but also a tool to enhance the travel experience.
